EI! Live 2024
Ei! Live was back at the Farnborough Exhibition this year and AV Innovation went along. The whole team packed into two cars on the 18th September and drove the M25 to get to the show.
After a couple years hiatus, the boys at AV Innovation went to Ei! Live to see all the upcoming and innovative smart home and AV equipment that has been released by manufacturers. We all got hands on with some of this equipment and had a first hand look at up and coming tech coming very soon. Manufacturers like One AV, Rako, ArcLED, HDAnywhere, AWE UK, RGB Communications etc. were all on display showing off their latest products and demonstrations of some of these products.
AV Innovation went and watched the HDAnywhere keynote which introduced the brand new Remote that they have been creating over the last few years. The first-ever British smart remote, with the longest instant-on battery life of any smart remote in the world, and a sophisticated smart home control system for the mid-market. With ergonomic designs to make it easier and simpler for the end user to use. Imagine a single remote that not only handles all of the AV equipment but also sets the perfect ambiance for any occasion. With the uControl Remote, the end user is not just getting a universal remote for their TV, sound system, and other AV devices, but a comprehensive control centre for the entire room.
We Managed to get hands on with the remote as they had samples of these on their stands and we were impressed at the design and being AV Innovation we tried to push the remote to the limit and it worked flawlessly.
We went and visited our friends at Steinway Lyngdorf and Simon introduced us to the Steinway & Sons Model S Soundbar. This soundbar definitely packed a punch, Simon passed us the control on the Ipad and in typical fashion a little bit of Drum n Bass was thrown on to see the two subwoofers dance to the bass (as seen in the slow mo video below). Steinway have designed this soundbar with three ait motion transformer tweeters, three dedicated midrange drivers and two power subwoofers pushing out a combined amplification power of 1600 watts. This is all neatly packaged into a machined solid aluminium casing with five acoustically separated chambers to help create this fantastic soundabr.
We all had an amazing time at Ei! Live this year, many of the team this was their first time visiting the show. We will be back and there will be projects in the future using the products we saw at the show!
